DanceSport competitions are organised in the following categories:

– Standard dances (International Ballroom),

– Latin American dances (International Latin),

– 10 dances (Standard + Latin).

 

DanceSport categories:

– Amateur DanceSport categories

(national, the lowest being F, then E, D, C, B, A, and the S – A international )

– Professionals

Age DanceSport categories:

– children (below 9), (10-11)

– juniors (12-13), (14-15)

– teenagers (16-17)

– adults (18-34)

– seniors (Senior I – the younger partner is at least 30, the older is 35)

(Senior II – the younger partner is at least 40, the older is 45)

(Senior III – the younger partner is at least 50, the older is 55)

(Senior IV – the younger partner is at least 60, the older is 65)

In the categories: children, juniors, teenagers, the age of the older partner is relevant; in the case of adult and senior categories, the age of the younger partner is relevant.
